| My name is Phil Backert. I am currently a junior
at Neumann College. My major is Communications, and I am taking a minor
in Business. During my first two years here, I have played on the baseball
team and have written for the school newspaper. For the Fall Semester of
2005, I have been in CA 250-A Web Page Design.
As a class, we have done many projects. One of the projects I did was to revise a webpage. The assignment was called “nightmare page” because it looked so bad. The class then had to revise it to where the page could be looked at by others. The point of this exercise was to show aesthetics for online design. Another assignment we did was called “Endeavour page,” and this was a newspaper that we had to put online. The point of this exercise was to transfer print to online, and understand the difference between the two. I also did a project called “Dreamweaver page,” and this was using WYSYWIG (What You See Is What You Get). Using Dreamweaver is an easier way to make a website. The class also did an assignment called “Pop Up page,” which used java script and made everyone familiar with that. During the semester we had two projects. Project one was working with HTML and showing our knowledge on how to do it. This was a difficult project because I had to put all the codes in by hand. Project two was a project we had to create for a third party. My topic was to make a website for the school newspaper, “The Joust.” I enjoyed this project because it was easier then hand coding everything like Project one, and I was able to be more creative in what I wanted to do. All the links are located on the left side of the website if you wish to see the works that I have done during the course of the semester. |
